Line dancing is a solo dance done in rows, with everyone dancing the same sequence to the music. Our beginner line dance classes in Midtown Manhattan, taught by Bella Rojo, cover popular dances to country, pop and rock songs.
Most dances repeat a pattern and then turn to face a new wall, so the whole room moves together without anyone needing a partner. That is a big part of why line dancing shows up at weddings, bars and parties.
What You’ll Learn
Each class focuses on one or two dances at the beginner and improver level. We break each dance into building blocks like the grapevine, jazz box, kick ball change and pivot turn, then put it all together to the music. What to Wear
Wear comfortable clothes and dance sneakers, or boots with clean, smooth soles. No partner or experience is needed, so come on your own or bring friends.
