Join us for our beginner Line Dance class, where you’ll learn popular line dances to songs ranging from country to rock, pop, and everything in between. We’ll break down the common patterns that make up line dances and explore styling options in a fun, supportive environment. Bring your boots, bring your friends. Let’s boot scoot and boogie!

Class Description

Level 1: Line Dance – Mondays 6:30pm

Each 90-minute class focuses on 1 to 2 line dances at the Beginner and Improver level. We’ll break each dance into its building blocks, like the grapevine, jazz box, kick ball change and pivot turn, then put it all together to the music.

Once you know these patterns, new dances get easier to pick up, because most line dances are built from the same pieces in a new order. That’s what lets what you learn each week carry into the next, and onto any dance floor.

No partner or experience needed.

Wear comfortable clothes and dance sneakers/shoes, or boots with clean, smooth soles.

What Is Line Dancing?

Line dancing is a solo dance done in rows, with everyone performing the same choreographed sequence to the music at the same time. Most dances repeat a pattern and then turn to face a new wall, so the whole room moves together without anyone needing a partner. It’s closely tied to country music, but today you’ll find line dances choreographed to pop, rock, R&B and Latin hits, which is a big part of why it’s become a favorite at weddings, bars and parties.
