We had a great experience with Stephanie Shapiro learning the first dance for our wedding! The space itself was great, with 2 rooms for lessons and practicing on our own. Stephanie was very easy to coordinate with and was flexible to our schedule. We had a lot of fun at every lesson - Stephanie was reassuring, keeping it light even when we were struggling. She was able to choreograph a dance that fit the style we wanted and looked professional, but wasn't too difficult for a couple beginners to learn in 4 lessons. We received so many compliments on the dance - it was definitely one of the more memorable parts of our wedding night for us and our guests.

We took lessons at Danznik for our May 2022 wedding with Nikolai and it was an amazing experience! From the start, the whole Danznik team were so friendly and welcoming. Neither my husband nor I had any dancing experience, but we knew we wanted a dance to impress our family and friends at our wedding. Nikolai started with the basics for us - learning the basic box and steps. This was super helpful, and we left the first lesson surprised at how much we learned. Through our other 5 lessons, Nikolai choreographed the perfect dance for us. Simple and easy to remember, but with a handful of WOW moments with dips and ending with a lift! We had so much fun learning our dance with Nikolai. My husband didn’t know if he wanted to take lessons at the start, but it ended up being his favorite part of our wedding! We are so glad we went with Danznik and Nikolai to learn our first dance & highly recommend to all couples getting married!

We cannot recommend Tatiana Keegan enough! One of us had zero dance experience, and the other hadn’t danced since high school over 10 years ago—and neither of us had ever tried ballroom before. After 10 lessons with Tatiana, we went from nervous and clueless to completely confident. She choreographed a first dance that was perfectly “us,” easy to learn, and looked amazing on the big day. Her energy is infectious, her teaching style is fun and clear, and every lesson felt like hanging out with a friend who also happens to be a brilliant instructor. We absolutely killed our first dance, and it’s one of our favorite memories from the wedding—all thanks to Tatiana.

We found Danznik through a Google search just one month before our wedding, after deciding fairly last-minute that we wanted some dance skills and a short choreography… and we were scheduled for our first private lesson within 24 hours! Anton was fun, engaging, and skilled at tailoring his instruction to two people with totally different levels of experience (one of us had none 🙃). We had a perfect ~2 minute routine and a lot more ballroom knowledge after just four sessions, and all our guests LOVED our first dance!! Anton is an amazing teacher and we definitely recommend Danznik to any couple looking for a perfect wedding dance!

I had a hard time choosing and finding a place to do wedding dance lessons. So many places are so expensive or are unclear about their pricing structure. Danznik was upfront about everything and had the perfect package. Over 4 lessons we learned a full 2 minute dance. Our instructor catered the dance to our abilities and adjusted over time as she saw how we moved together. I would highly recommend for anyone looking to have a choreographed first dance!

We had an amazing time getting dance lessons from Danznik Studios to prepare us for our wedding. Our instructor Anton was amazing! He had been picked for us by the staff to be the best match for our first dance song, and he was completely involved and enthusiastic as he taught us dance moves catered to our song and venue. Practicing these joyous the dance moves at home was a daily relief from other wedding planning stress. The first dance was a hit, with several people telling us afterward how surprised they were by our dance. The studio is beautiful and spacious and there was never a time we didn't have a private room and the staff made us feel so welcomed. We could not recommend Anton and Danznik studios more for wedding dance planning!!

We didn't have any prior dancing experience and wanted to do more than just sway for our first dance at our wedding. Danznik matched us with our instructor Anton who was awesome! He's an extremely talented dancer and a kind and patient teacher who taught us the basics and put together a nice choreographed number for our song. We had a lot of fun practicing, and he even provided feedback on the practice videos we sent him. He made us feel at ease to be on the center stage and most importantly have fun! How much do wedding dance lessons cost?

Our Starter Package is $499 for four private lessons (about $125 each), plus unlimited free practice time—something most NYC studios charge extra for or don’t offer at all. Additional lessons are $99 each.

What if we have two left feet?

Then you’ll fit right in. Most of our couples say the same thing in their first lesson, and most of them are shocked by how good they look by lesson three. Your instructor has seen it all and knows how to work with every comfort level.

What makes Danznik different from other NYC wedding dance studios?

Three things: transparent pricing (no surprises, no upsells), unlimited free practice space at our studios, and flexible scheduling with a team of instructors. Most independent instructors can’t offer practice space, and most franchise studios won’t give you a straight answer on price until you’re in the door.

What dance style should I learn for our wedding dance?

Most couples start dancing with basic steps from foxtrot or waltz for classic wedding choreography. Popular ballroom dancing styles include cha cha, salsa, and Viennese waltz for more energy. West Coast Swing offers great lead/follow improv opportunities. Your instructor will recommend the perfect style based on your song and comfort level.

How many lessons do we need for our wedding dance?

It depends on your goals, experience, and schedule. Many couples take 5-10 private lessons to feel confident and comfortable. Working with an instructor helps you learn faster and with less stress.

When should we start wedding dance lessons?

Starting 2–3 months before your wedding gives you time to learn comfortably and reduce last-minute stress. Even a few weeks can work with consistent practice.

Can I dance in my wedding dress?

Yes. Most wedding dresses can be dance-friendly with a few simple adjustments. If your dress has a long train, having it bustled is key for safe movement. When you meet with your dance instructor, bring details about your dress style so they can choreograph moves that work perfectly with your gown’s silhouette and fabric.

Can I change instructors after our first lesson?

Yes. We want you to feel completely comfortable. If you’d prefer to work with a different instructor, just let us know. We’ll happily make the switch.

Can we choose our own music?

Yes, your first dance should feel personal, and your song choice is a big part of that. If you’re undecided, our team can help you find something that fits your vibe and goals for the dance.

What should we wear for our wedding dance lessons?

Wear clothing that is comfortable and easy to move in. If you already have your wedding shoes or something similar, bring them along. It helps us tailor the experience to your actual movement in that footwear.

Can we do a surprise or flash mob style dance?

Yes. We’ve helped couples pull off surprise mashups, costume reveals, and full guest flash mobs. If you can dream it, we can choreograph it.

Do I need dance experience to take wedding dance lessons?

Wedding dance lessons do not require any prior dance experience. Most couples who work with us are beginners! We specialize in making you feel at ease and confident from the very first step.

What happens if we need to reschedule?

We can accommodate rescheduling with at least 24-hour notice. We’ll do our best to find a new time slot that works for you.
