Maren Merian

Originally from Germany, Maren Merian is new to NYC, but not new to Lindy Hop. She spent over a decade dancing, teaching, competing, and performing in Europe. While living in Vienna she taught weekly classes in Lindy Hop and Solo Jazz and ran a local chorus line dance team. She is also a seasoned competitor and passionate performer.

While her main focus is in Lindy Hop and Swing, she’s enthusiastic about all social partnered dances and is always excited to play on the social dance floor.

For the guided practice Maren is excited to dig into the details of partnered connection and help students dive deeper into the things they want to work on. You can expect footwork and swivel drills from her, Jazz challenges and detailed conversations about how to really connect with your partner.
