Front Desk Receptionist

We’re looking for a friendly and professional Front Desk Receptionist to deliver an exceptional experience to every student and visitor at our dance studio. You’ll welcome students, prospective clients, and visitors, manage class registrations, handle payments, and answer any general inquiries to ensure everyone has a positive experience with us. Compensation, Schedule & Location:

  • $20-25 hourly
  • ~30 hours per week
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends required (business operating hours are 9am to 10pm daily)
  • Located at 240 W 37th St, 2nd Floor, New York, NY 10018

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Previous customer service or reception experience preferred, particularly in hospitality settings such as hotels, restaurants, fitness centers, or other service-oriented businesses
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Fluent in English
  • Strong computer proficiency, including experience with CRM software, help desk software, and Google Drive and Google Workspace applications
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Knowledge and/or interest in partner dance strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Greet students, prospective clients, and visitors when they arrive at the studio
  • Manage class registrations, attendance tracking, and studio schedule
  • Process payments, handle basic bookkeeping, and maintain accurate financial records
  • Answer phone calls, respond to emails, and provide information about class schedules, pricing, and studio policies
  • Utilize Mindbody CRM software to track client interactions and follow up with prospective students
  • Manage help desk inquiries through FreshDesk
  • Assist dance instructors with administrative needs and studio preparations
  • Maintain a clean and welcoming reception area
  • Coordinate with cleaning staff to ensure studio spaces are ready for classes
  • Handle minor concerns and direct more significant issues to appropriate management
  • Assist with special events, recitals, and studio functions as needed
