Graam Liu
Book LessonOver 10 years ago, Graam started a journey of a lifetime: collecting partnered social dances like how Thanos admires stones, or how tiny apartments collect stuff (as he often describes). So far, he has immersed himself in the dances, people, and culture of Lindy Hop, West Coast Swing, Forró (Brazilian), Brazilian Zouk, Salsa, Bachata, just to name a few. However, Lindy Hop for him is where his soul beats with both joy and jazz on the dance floor.
As a student and educator in dance and music, Graam is excited to share his knowledge of Lindy Hop in these practice sessions with new and experienced students alike. His goal is to introduce you to his friends like Ms. Minnie Dip and Mr. Shorty George; however, most importantly, to create a shared space to practice and build community, and to help one another be the best dancer and person we can be. After all, dance belongs to us all, not just the few. It is honoring the past while creating the future. It is a human expression in defiance of inhuman acts: to dance is to be free.
