What is a proficiency showcase?

This is a showcase event for our students and teachers to perform their routines for their family and friends. They can choose to do a solo/group/exhibition or join the proficiency rounds which is patterned after a DanceSport competition.

 

Is there a judge and will there be winners?

Yes there will be a judge. Our guest adjudicator is 11-time US Amateur National Latin Champion and Blackpool Finalist, Maria Manusova. Maria is also the origanizer of New York Dance Festival and the owner of Brooklyn DanceSport Club.

This is not a competition, but you will receive an evaluation from our judge for your personal use. 

 
How can I join? 

Simply fill out the online registration form. You can fill out multiple forms if you are participating in different categories. 

 
How can I access the registration forms? 

You can access the forms by having your instructor visit our website and clink on the "registration forms" link. 

 

How do I pay? 

You can pay with the following ways:

Mindbody:  make sure you have a MindBody profile and an updated credit card. Simply download the Exclusively Dance Studios app (now available on the Apple App Store and Google Play) and create your account.

How much does it cost? 

Your instructor will go over everything with you. 

How do I order a video recording for my single dances? 

There will be a video order form when you check in at the event. Make sure you fill it out carefully and write down the heat number you would like to record. 

 

When can I see the heat lists? 

Heat lists will be posted on the website on April 29, 2023. 

 

What is the deadline for submitting the registration forms? 

April 26, 2023

How can my friends and family watch? 

This is a live studio event so they can purchase spectator tickets on our website or at the door.

How do I get there? What about parking?

The Metro-North Hawthorne stop is right beside the studio. You can take it from Grand Central Station if you're coming from Manhattan.  If you are driving, parking is free!

 

Are we allowed to take photos or record some of the dancing? 

Absolutely! If you post on social media, please tag the studio (@danznikstudios) and use the hashtag #DanznikSpringfest. We would love to see all your posts! 

 

Anything else I need to know? 

You will need to create a profile to join. Simply download our app in the Apple App Store or Google play and create a profile. For the most up-to-date announcements, follow us on Instagram and Facebook.
